Mall owner Simon has expanded and rebranded its Shop Premium Outlets online marketplace. The site, now called ShopSimon, represents “the next phase in [Simon’s] journey to create the ultimate omnichannel shopping experience,” according to a company release.

Shop Premium Outlets (SPO) launched in 2019 to give shoppers online access to off-price inventory from Simon malls. Now, SPO is repositioning itself under the new ShopSimon banner in response to its “phenomenal growth,” and also is expanding its inventory to include on-sale and discounted merchandise from more than 360 brands, including Adidas, American Eagle, Cole Haan, Etro, Hugo Boss, MCM, Puma, Steve Madden and Tod’s.

“By seamlessly integrating the ease and portability of online shopping with the appeal of our nationwide network of top tier malls and premium outlets, Simon is creating the standard for a truly integrated omnichannel experience,” said David Simon, Chairman, CEO and President of Simon in a statement. “Inherent in our culture is a drive for innovation and a desire to enhance the shopping experience for our consumers while delivering new sales opportunities for our retailers. ShopSimon is yet another example of how we are bringing the retail ecosystem together to deliver more of what today’s discerning shopper wants.”

When consumers go to the ShopSimon site, they can search for products by image or color, view similar items and receive more personalized product recommendations and shopping guidance. Over the coming months, ShopSimon plans to leverage the Simon nationwide network of shopping destinations and retailers to offer more robust inventory visibility and order fulfillment options.

ShopSimon Aims to Creates More Value for Brand Partners

As of September 2023, SPO featured more than 300 brands and sales were up 100% year over year. In March 2024, SPO added a retail media network on top of that foundation to allow marketplace sellers “to serve advertisements directly to their most relevant audiences,” explained Neel Grover, CEO of ShopSimon (still SPO at the time).
ShopSimon will continue to offer these opportunities to participating retail partners and give them access to new, customized virtual storefronts. Additionally, enhanced digital capabilities will make it easier for brands to post, promote and sell their merchandise, giving them full control over product assortment, pricing and marketing.

“We are thrilled to offer top brands a truly unique digital channel to sell directly to the massive Simon shopping audience,” said Grover in a statement. “The re-branding and expansion of ShopSimon continues to capitalize on Simon’s world-class real estate portfolio and retailer relationships to create curated omnichannel and loyalty opportunities for consumers and brands alike.”
