Temu has launched a new app for Shopify merchants that will allow the nearly 3 million U.S.businesses selling onShopify to instantly list and start selling their products on the Temu marketplace.
Temu — which was at one point the No.1 shopping app in the U.S. — has faced mounting headwinds this year. President Trump’s tariffs and the removal of the de minimis loophole have dramatically increased the cost of importing to the U.S., which is particularly challenging for low-cost platforms like Temu. Additionally, a number of regulatory bodies including the Federal Trade Commission and Congress have ramped up their scrutiny of Temu and its business practices.
Shopify Merchants can Now Easily Sell on Temu
As a hedge against these pressures, Temu debuted the Local Seller Program in November 2024, allowing businesses outside of China to sell and fulfill orders within their own markets. The program has not only increased Temu’s assortment of local products but also helped improve delivery speeds. Now, Shopify merchants can easily join the program to reach Temu customers, similar to how they connects with other sales channels like TikTok Shop, Facebook and Faire.
“This app is part of our efforts to lower barriers and create growth opportunities for businesses worldwide, while giving shoppers greater convenience and choice,” said a Temu spokesperson in a statement.

The Temu app is now available on the Shopify App Store and enables merchants to access Temu’s Local Seller Program in more than 30 markets where the program operates, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, Germany, Spain and Australia. Through the app, Shopify merchants can manage product listings, inventory and fulfillment seamlessly from one place.
Key features of the app include:
- Ability to list across more than 600 product categories, ranging from patches and live plants to specialty meat, books and collectibles;
- One-click product sync for faster, more accurate listings;
- Real-time inventory updates to prevent overselling; and
- Automated order and shipping coordination for smoother fulfillment.
