They say location is everything in retail, and so American Eagle is leveraging Snap Map — the Snapchat map program — to promote its physical locations while also providing “Snapchatters” with a mobile shopping experience on its website. More than 800 American Eagle stores are now featured as Promoted Places on Snap Maps.

Snapchatters clicking on American Eagle Promoted Places can learn more about the location, check out Stories and Spotlight content from American Eagle, creators and other Snapchatters, and click to shop on ae.com for a seamless shopping experience. Additionally, American Eagle is launching the AE Jeans Try-on Haul Lens in the Snapchat Lens Carousel and in its Public Profile.
“Snap Map is where millions of Snapchatters go to see what’s happening around them,” said Crystal Alexander, Senior Manager and Client Partner at Snap Inc. in a statement. “With over 40 billion opens last quarter alone, it’s become one of the most powerful platforms for real-time discovery. With Promoted Places, we’re thrilled to help brands like American Eagle show up in both everyday moments and major events like back to school shopping, and turn local discovery into real-world visits.”
In May 2021 Poshmark launched a social shopping experience on Snapchat; the “Snap Mini” program allowed Snapchat users to connect with other Poshmark customers and explore a selection of curated, personalized products. Snapchat teamed up with L’Oréal Paris and Walmart in May 2024 for a phygital integration designed to bring the beauty brand’s hair colors to life in stores.
