Purpose-driven luxury retailer Olivela already donates a portion of every sale to a range of causes. Now the ecommerce site has unveiled the Women’s Empowerment Fund, aimed at supporting women’s advancement worldwide.
The Olivela community already has raised the equivalent of over 1.1 million days of school for girls, and with the launch of the Women’s Empowerment Fund Olivela hopes to scale its support for critical education, climate resiliency and healthcare programs as well. Among the organizations participating in Olivela’s new Women’s Empowerment Fund are CARE, Dress for Success, Equality Now, Malaika, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project and Women for Women International.
“At Olivela, every day is Giving Tuesday; we donate 20% of net proceeds from every purchase, every day, to causes dedicated to transforming the lives of women and girls everywhere,” said Stacey Boyd, CEO and Founder of Olivela in a statement. “With the Women’s Empowerment Fund, we’re excited to unite our community with trusted global partners to create real, lasting impact for women and girls.”
“Being a part of Olivela’s Women’s Empowerment Fund feels like such a natural fit for Sentebale,” said Sophie Chandauka, Board Chair of the nonprofit Sentebale. “We deeply believe in the power of role modeling what we would like to see and convening like-minded organizations to drive change. Together with Olivela and the other incredible cause partners, we are championing a brighter, more equitable future for women and girls.”
