Qurate Retail Group, parent company of brands including QVC, HSN and Zulily, has hired Bill Wafford as its new CFO, effective March 20, 2023. Wafford, who will report to Qurate Retail President and CEO David Rawlinson II, replaces James Hathaway, who has served as interim CFO since August 2022. Hathaway will become CFO of QVC U.S., the company’s largest business unit.
Wafford was most recently CFO at the digitally native apparel brand Everlane, and he also has held that title at companies including JCPenney, The Vitamin Shoppe and Thrasio. His experience also includes serving as Partner at KPMG and holding finance roles at Walgreens Boots Alliance, Target and Archstone Consulting.
“Qurate Retail is in the midst of a multi-year growth plan that touches every facet of our business and is focused on stabilizing the core business and expanding our leadership in video streaming commerce,” said Rawlinson in a statement. “As we execute our strategic plans, we are excited to add someone of Bill’s experience and talent to lead our finance team. He brings strong strategic insights on operations and transformation, a disciplined financial approach and a commitment to a team-oriented culture that will enable us to sharpen our focus on the key areas that will drive our success.
The company has been beefing up its ranks with a number of other new hires in recent months. In September 2022, Qurate named former Amazon and Macy’s executive to top positions: Soumya Sriraman as President of Streaming, and Stacy Bowe as Chief Merchandising Officer.
