Etsy has named its current President and Chief Growth Officer, Kruti Patel Goyal, to succeed Josh Silverman as CEO, effective Dec. 31, 2025. Goyal, who has worked for Etsy since 2011 in a variety of roles, was CEO of Etsy subsidiary Depop from September 2022 through May 2025. To assist with the transition, Silverman is expected to serve as Executive Chair of the Etsy board through 2026.

“After over eight years as Etsy’s CEO, I’ve decided that this is the right time for me to hand over the leadership baton to the next generation,” said Silverman in a statement. “Kruti is fabulously talented and is the right leader to guide the business forward. In addition to her tremendous success as CEO of Depop, over the past year Kruti has evolved and led Etsy’s strategic growth initiatives, which has led to improving topline performance.”
Goyal was named President and Chief Growth Officer of Etsy in December 2024. In these roles she oversaw product, engineering, marketing, customer support, trust and safety, and strategy and operations for the platform. Under her leadership at Depop, the company was named to Time’s list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in 2024.
“I’m honored and excited to step into the CEO role at Etsy at such a pivotal time,” said Goyal in a statement., “As customer needs continue to evolve, Etsy will too — but we’ll do it in a way that stays true to who we are, leaning into what makes us different: human connection, our sellers’ creativity and a distinctly personal shopping experience.”
Etsy has been fine-tuning its offerings as it seeks to navigate a more crowded secondhand and resale environment. In August 2024 Etsy enhanced its search experience to prioritize high-quality sellers, and in April 2025 Etsy revamped its app experience using AI to offer more inspiration and personalization. Last month, Etsy adopted the Instant Checkout option for Open AI’s ChatGPT, allowing users to make Etsy purchases without leaving their conversations.
