Pacsun will deploy the iD Cloud Store solution from Nedap as it seeks to improve inventory accuracy and gain RFID-powered operational insights to inform replenishment decisions. The chainwide rollout is expected to be completed in Q1 2024.
The youth-oriented retailer chose the Nedap solution for its ability to help improve inventory accuracy and enhance omnichannel fulfillment capabilities, including increased usage of buy online, pick up in-store (BOPIS) functionality. Nedap also uses a Virtual Shielding algorithm to digitally identify article location at a 98% accuracy rate, according to the solution provider.
“Pacsun shoppers are social media savvy and shop our exclusive merch drops with urgency,” said Shirley Gao, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Pacsun in a statement. “We pay attention to our customers’ desired preferences and listen to them every second of every day — including their expectations of a seamless shopping experience. Partnering with Nedap is helping us unlock competitive advantages as we tap into data-rich fulfillment and operational cheat-codes to get the right product to the right stores for the right customers.”
Pacsun has been beefing up its tech stack in recent months in order to meet the needs and expectations of its target customers. The retailer expanded its partnership with Manhattan to support its unified commerce vision in August 2023 and onboarded Cart.com to handle its fulfillment logistics in September 2023. This followed Pacsun’s debut of a new store format to spotlight its activewear collection in July 2023.
