As part of its overall digital transformation, Family Dollar will debut a mobile app in October that will allow users to manage coupons and more easily locate products with improved search functionality. The retailer also is promising enhancements by early 2024 that will include in-app ecommerce, personalization capabilities, an “evolved” rewards experience and a mobile experience for sister company Dollar Tree.
“The launch of our new Family Dollar app is one more step in the digital transformation currently underway at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar,” said Bobby Aflatooni, CIO of Dollar Tree in a statement. “We are investing across the enterprise to make shopping with us even easier and more enjoyable.”
Family Dollar worked with digital consultancy Publicis Sapient to lead the mobile introduction.
“We believe this new user experience will not only appeal to our customers, but to brands who want to promote their products to our millions of customers through Chesapeake Media Group, our retail media network,” said Emily Turner, Chief Marketing Officer at Dollar Tree in a statement.

Dollar Tree could use some positive news: it was fined $1.35 million by OSHA for repeated safety violations in August 2023.
