David’s Bridal has introduced Adored by David’s, a resale program that will be managed by Arrive Recommerce. Secondhand wedding, bridesmaid and special occasion dresses, along with accessories, will be available through a curated, dedicated online storefront at 40% to 50% savings.
Arrive Recommerce will be responsible for receiving and inspecting inventory, assigning value and shipping items directly to customers. Members of the retailer’s loyalty program will earn one Diamond Loyalty point for each dollar spent on the site. Earlier this month the retailer expanded its loyalty program rewards to include the entire wedding party.
“We’re excited to unveil Adored by David’s, offering stunning, affordable dresses to help her embrace sustainability without compromise,” said Kelly Cook, President for Brand, Technology and Finance at David’s Bridal in a statement. “By extending the life of our garments, we’re not only offering a wide variety of gorgeous dresses but also taking a meaningful step toward a more sustainable future for fashion.”
David’s Bridal also plans to expand the resale program by introducing a store and mail-in trade-in program for authentic David’s garments. Additionally, the retailer plans to introduce storied and vintage items into its ecosystem. Ebay’s May 2024 Recommerce Report documented the growth of secondhand goods purchases, revealing that 70% of surveyed consumers planned to buy “pre-loved” items this year.

“We applaud David’s Bridal for being a first mover in launching the bridal industry’s largest branded resale program to date,” said Rachelle Snyder, Co-founder and CEO of Arrive in a statement. “By keeping valuable garments in use, David’s Bridal is providing accessibility, variety and a sustainably driven selection for brides and wedding parties alike that will set a new industry standard.”
After declaring bankruptcy in April 2023, David’s Bridal was sold to CION Investment Corp. in July 2023 in a deal that kept approximately 195 brick-and-mortar stores open.
