Major resellers including Etsy, Poshmark, Ebay and Depop, along with industry group American Circular Textiles, are expressing their support for the newly launched Recommerce Caucus, a bipartisan coalition championing the fast-growing circular economy, which is projected to reach as high as $1.04 trillion by 2035.

The caucus, led by Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) and Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), is committed to advancing forward-looking policies that support small businesses, expand access to digital marketplaces and promote sustainability through buying, selling and repurposing pre-owned, refurbished and secondhand goods.

“Resale, repair and reuse are vital components of circularity, alongside recycling, domestic manufacturing and innovative materials,” said Rachel Kibbe, Founder and CEO of American Circular Textiles in a statement. “Together, these systems extend product lifecycles, reduce environmental impacts and create accessible pathways for consumers and businesses to engage in more sustainable practices. We look forward to working with the caucus and other leaders to ensure the United States builds the infrastructure, policies and markets needed to scale circular solutions, both nationally and globally.”

“As a lifelong thrifter and advocate for sustainable business practices, I’m proud to partner with Rep. Malliotakis to launch the bipartisan Recommerce Caucus,” said Rep. Kamlager-Dove in a statement. “Recommerce is more than a trend — it’s a growing economic engine that provides consumers with affordable, high-quality goods and gives entrepreneurs, small businesses and resellers access to trusted, thriving marketplaces.”
