Best Buy and Apple have partnered to put the Best Buy Health Lively app on the Apple Watch. Lively will help older users stay safe and healthy with a variety of services, including access to Lively Urgent Response Agents who can help both in emergency and non-emergency situations.
Subscribers can choose the Preferred Health & Safety contract package for access to Lively’s features, which include:
- Urgent Response: Adding the Urgent Response button to the face of the Apple Watch lets users immediately connect to trained agents who can help in emergencies 24/7;
- Urgent Care: Allows users to speak to a registered nurse or board-certified doctor from anywhere, any time and without an appointment, with no insurance plan or co-pay needed; and
- GreatCall Link: Offers an app for friends and family that keeps them informed about their loved one’s health, safety and daily activity through smartphone updates.
Best Buy and Apple also plan to roll out a Live Agent Assist feature in the near future that will automatically contact a Lively Agent if a hard fall is detected. The agent will make sure the user is OK and contact family members if necessary.
“By offering these powerful safety features on Apple Watch, we’re creating a new way to achieve a greater sense of connection and independence for older adults and added peace of mind for both them and their families,” said David Inns, President of Active Aging at Best Buy Health in a statement. “It’s the perfect next step in furthering Best Buy Health’s mission to enrich and save lives through technology and meaningful connections.”
