Fitness franchise Orangetheory has teamed up with spatial data company Matterport to scan and create photorealistic 3D digital twins of its U.S. studios in order to ensure design consistency across all 1,250 locations.

Using Matterport Capture Services, the company can virtually assess whether a studio is consistent with brand guidelines and advise on required updates, saving both time and money by reducing the need for travel. The investment will serve a dual purpose on the sales side of the business, allowing franchisees to provide 3D virtual walkthroughs for prospective members.
“As we continue to grow the number of our studios across the U.S. and across the globe, it becomes increasingly difficult to access information about specific locations and make informed business decisions,” said Mike Mettler, Chief Development Officer of Orangetheory Fitness in a statement. “With Matterport digital twins, we become equipped with accurate, reliable data that allows us to improve our studios and better serve our members. The efficiency and ease of Capture Services saves us thousands of dollars in travel and labor costs.”
