Walmart Adds Spotify to Membership Benefits, Expands Wellness Offerings

Walmart+ Spotify wellness membership

Walmart is continuing to expand beyond typical big box retailer offerings with the addition of new wellness services and free access to music streaming platform Spotify for Walmart+ members.

From now through the end of 2022, new and existing Walmart+ members will have access to six months of Spotify Premium for free. “Our Walmart+ members have told us they’re passionate about their music and entertainment, so today’s announcement is just one more way that we’re adding value to our Walmart+ membership,” said Chris Cracchiolo, SVP and General Manager of Walmart+ in a blog post announcing the promotion.

For $12.95/month or $98/year, Walmart+ members already receive free grocery delivery from stores, free shipping with no order minimum, contactless checkout, member prices on prescriptions and fuel, early access to Black Friday deals and access to members-only Walmart.com events.

Additionally, the retailer announced that all full- and part-time U.S. associates working in its stores, distribution centers and fulfillment centers will receive a free Walmart+ membership. “This new associate benefit is not only our way to say thank you for all they do, but it’s also so associates can use our membership, tell us how it’s going and ultimately speak to customers about it from personal experience,” added Cracchiolo.

Walmart also announced two new additions to its wellness lineup:

  • Support for caregivers: BetterUp for Caregivers, a new exclusive offering from Walmart and BetterUp, provides caregivers access to live group coaching circles led by a professional BetterUp coach and includes customized tools and a community for support as they navigate daily challenges.
  • Personalized vitamins: Easy Vitamin Plan’s personalized vitamin subscription plans are now available to Walmart customers, featuring a 28-day supply of vitamins designed to meet each customers’ specific health needs.

“After the past couple years, many of us are inspired to rethink how we care for ourselves and loved ones, and 2022 provides a fresh start for renewed health and wellness goals,” said Julie Barber, SVP of Health and Wellness Merchandising for Walmart U.S. in a blog post. “Working with leading providers to bring our customers services focused on personal coaching and personalized nutrition is one more way Walmart is making wellness more accessible and affordable.”
