Resale marketplace Poshmark has named fashion, luxury and ecommerce veteran Elizabeth von der Goltz as its first-ever Chief Revenue Officer. When she takes the post next month, von der Goltz will oversee all of Poshmark’s commercial and marketing functions, including merchandising and sourcing, partnerships, customer acquisition and growth, brand and creative, communications and social media.
Centralizing control of so many key retailing functions under the “revenue” banner is part of the retailer’s first attempt to integrate active merchandising and curated assortments into its organizational structure and long-term strategy. In the past, Poshmark has sometimes had difficulty effectively managing the business side of its operations; for example, in October 2024 Poshmark revamped its seller fee structure, then reverted to its old structure a few weeks later.
“Elizabeth’s appointment marks a milestone moment for us,” said Namsun Kim, CEO of Poshmark in a statement. “We’ve always been a product and tech company at heart, but our next phase envisions pairing that DNA with commercial precision, creativity and brand strength. Elizabeth brings the rare combination of luxury fashion, digital retail strategy and global merchandising and operational expertise.”
Von der Goltz’s two decades of experience span major markets including New York, London and Hong Kong. She has held senior leadership roles at Bergdorf Goodman and later served as Global Buying Director for Net-a-Porter. Among her most recent positions have been Chief Commercial Officer at Matches Fashion; CEO of Browns; and Chief Fashion and Merchandising Officer at Farfetch.
“Throughout my career — from best-in-class brick-and-mortar to global ecommerce and luxury marketplaces — I’ve always focused on one question: what’s next for the consumer?,” said von der Goltz in a statement. “As the industry evolves, the future is taking shape in social commerce, peer-to-peer connection and circular fashion, and I’m thrilled to join Poshmark at this pivotal moment.”
Poshmark’s major initiatives over the past two years have combined its tech orientation with strategic partnerships, including a September 2024 partnership with Coachtopia, the Coach sub-brand dedicated to resale, and digital ID technology Eon to simplify resale processes for Coachtopia’s products.
In January 2025 Poshmark partnered with Loop Returns to allow shoppers to sell unwanted items that they couldn’t return to the original retailer or manufacturer, extending the products’ life and cutting return handling costs for retailers, and last month, Facebook Marketplace integrated listings from Poshmark and Ebay.
