Amazon has reportedly expanded the offerings in its Amazon Autos category to include used and certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles, according to Car and Driver. Amazon had launched online auto sales in December 2024, featuring new Hyundai vehicles exclusively, but now participating dealers will be allowed to offer non-Hyundai used vehicles on the site, an Amazon spokesperson shared with the publication.
The addition of used and CPO vehicles will debut in Los Angeles and expand to more U.S. cities during the coming months. The Amazon car-buying experience includes key elements such as financing, leasing options and trade-in opportunities, so the customer only goes to the car dealership when they have completed the transaction.
Amazon rival Alibaba also sells used cars online, and Ebay streamlined the process of purchasing cars on its website last month with the introduction of Secure Purchase.
