Continuing its mission shift toward becoming the “local commerce app,” DoorDash has introduced a suite of new products designed to help merchants manage and grow their businesses:
- The DoorDash Commerce Platform, designed for both online and in-store businesses;
- Online Ordering Mobile Apps, providing merchants with the ability to create their own branded iOS or Android mobile app; and
- A reimagined DoorDash Business Manager App that now includes quick access to payouts and sales tracking, marketing campaign management and reporting, and a personalized homepage feed with recommended actions for merchants’ stores on DoorDash.
“At our core, DoorDash is a merchant-focused company,” said Prabir Adarkar, President and COO of DoorDash in a statement. “Our mission has always been to develop products and services that empower local merchants to succeed. The restaurant industry has faced significant challenges in recent years, and it’s more important than ever for merchants to find innovative ways to grow their sales and increase profitability. The DoorDash Commerce Platform is designed to meet this need.”
The Commerce Platform includes five core products that merchants can integrate into their business:
- Drive On-Demand: The ability to offer delivery through their own app or website;
- Online Ordering: Enabling commission-free digital sales and branding on their own website or app;
- Phone Ordering: An AI-powered call-in ordering system with menu recommendations;
- Tableside Order & Pay: Providing customers with the option to scan a QR code with their phone to view menus and pay at the end of a meal to increase order efficiency; and
- Customer Support Solutions: A dedicated delivery support platform.
In recent years DoorDash has been steadily expanding the number and types of retailers it works with. During the last few months alone, DoorDash has partnered with Michaels and Save a Lot, Mattress Firm, H Mart and Aveda.

This latest service expansion by DoorDash follows similar moves at other retailers to package their logistics and technology expertise and offer them as white-label services to brands. Most notably, DoorDash competitor Instacart launched a similar white label solution in 2022 called Instacart Platform that helps grocers build out their ecommerce and fulfillment offerings.
