Century 21 Continues Ecommerce Expansion with TikTok Shop Debut

Century 21 is dipping its toes a bit deeper into ecommerce with TikTok Shop.

Century 21 has expanded its partnership with livestream shopping app ShopShops to bring the iconic New York City retailer to TikTok Shop.

The partners have been working together since 2018 to bring Century 21’s constantly evolving slate of off-price designer merchandise to online shoppers, via weekly live shopping events on the ShopShops app and Century 21’s Instagram. Now, starting June 6, ShopShops’ dedicated Century 21 NYC hosts also will share livestreams on Century 21’s TikTok account.

Shoppers will have the chance to purchase discounted designer items during the livestream, which, given Century 21’s constant rotation of limited-supply products, will create an ever-changing storefront. As the exclusive livestream partner of Century 21, ShopShops provides full operational services and also is an official TikTok Shop partner.

“We believe in livestream shopping and see first-hand how we’re able to bring the experience of shopping Century 21 online and into the homes of shoppers all over the world,” said Liyia Wu, CEO and Founder of ShopShops in a statement. “By integrating our unique shopping experience with the dynamic platform of TikTok, we are confident that we will bring new and returning consumers to Century 21 NYC and help to highlight the amazing fashion finds that the store has to offer.”

The TikTok Shop launch marks another milestone for the storied off-price retailer, which filed for bankruptcy and shuttered all of its stores in 2020. A little over a year ago, the retailer reopened its historic store in NYC’s financial district to much fanfare. While the company had anticipated the return of its ecommerce operation last year as well, a full-blown ecommerce website has not yet been launched.

ShopShops and TikTok shop offer the perfect platform to expand our reach beyond the NYC area, connecting with fashion enthusiasts around the world.”
