Offering access to its 120 million monthly customers, Walmart Marketplace is making a concerted effort to add UK exporters to its roster of sellers. The marketplace is sweetening the deal with its supply chain and infrastructure tools, including Walmart Fulfillment Services. Approved sellers can use these solutions to offer two-day delivery to customers within the contiguous U.S., with the caveat that this delivery window isn’t guaranteed during the September-to-January peak season.
The move comes as the British government increases efforts to promote UK goods beyond the European Union with its Made in the UK, Sold to the World campaign. U.S. and UK trade representatives met earlier in 2022 to deepen trade ties and boost the countries’ £200 billion ($242 billion USD) relationship.
UK companies already on the Marketplace platform include STATSports, BuyBox, Nodor and exporter Pertemba.
“We are confident that UK sellers will be able to leverage Britain’s reputation for design and manufacturing excellence and product quality to thrive as Marketplace sellers and bring more choice to our U.S. customers with speed and scale,” said Darren Carithers, SVP of Marketplace Development for Walmart International in a statement.
