Tractor Supply will open 90 new namesake stores and 10 new Petsense by Tractor Supply Stores this year, along with the addition of the rural-oriented retailer’s 11th distribution center (DC). Tractor Supply currently operates more than 2,500 stores, and in December 2024 the retailer revealed its long-term goal of eventually operating 3,200 locations.
The 2025 store openings forecast came with the announcement of modestly positive financial results for FY 2024: a 2.2% net sales increase, from $14.56 billion in FY2023 to $14.88 billion, with comparable store sales rising 0.2%.
“In 2024, our business performed well in a challenging retail environment, and we made significant progress on our Life Out Here strategy,” said Hal Lawton, President and CEO of Tractor Supply in a statement, referring to the retailer’s long-term strategic roadmap revealed in October 2020. “We achieved numerous milestones during the year, including having about half our stores in the Project Fusion layout and opening our 10th and largest distribution center. The fundamentals of our business remain strong with ongoing market share gains, record Neighbor’s Club members, digital sales in excess of $1 billion and high-return new store openings.”
Tractor Supply was honored with a Retail TouchPoints Brand Experience Award for improvements to its mobile app, and the retailer purchased online pet pharmacy Allivet in October 2024.
