With the possible exception of Christmas Tree Shops, Macy’s is the retailer most associated with Christmas, thanks to the multiple film, TV (there was even a Broadway musical version) of Miracle on 34th Street. To prepare for the holiday, now less than 100 days away, the retailer is planning a national Macy’s Santa Tour following the jolly fellow’s appearance at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Macy’s also has created its Top 100 Holiday Gifts assortment, featuring 40% newness across products including advent calendars, cashmere sweaters, jewelry, beauty and fragrance gift sets.
“Macy’s shines during the holidays and this year our customers will be inspired by newness, the latest trends and exclusive brands,” said Nata Dvir, Chief Merchandising Officer at Macy’s in a statement. “Our curated product will get customers ready for the season. Whether they are hosting dinners, dressing up for a holiday party or looking for the best holiday gifts, we have the most wonderful discoveries to help them celebrate in style.”
New Chicago Version of Holiday Square Marketplace
Other holiday-themed activations will include the second edition of Holiday Square, a curated marketplace featuring local vendors that will be located in the retailer’s Herald Square flagship store in NYC from Nov. 1 to Jan. 4, 2026. Macy’s will debut a Chicago version of the Holiday Square Market at the retailer’s State Street store, running from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24, 2025.
A new element at the Herald Square Santaland will be a Build-A-Bear Workshop, offering experiential opportunities for young visitors to create, style and accessorize their own stuffed animals before or after their visit with Kris Kringle.
Additionally, Santa Claus is calling on Macy’s shoppers to help create a festive playlist by sharing their favorite holiday songs. Fans can submit their choices via Macy’s social media channels from now through Oct. 17; after all the submissions are collected, Macy’s will post the full playlist on Spotify on Nov. 1.
