Using its 1,700+ stores to support fast fulfillment, Lowe’s has expanded same-day delivery services across the U.S. in partnership with OneRail. Orders placed on Lowes.com or the retailer’s mobile app by 2 p.m. local time will be delivered that day; orders placed after 2 p.m. will be delivered the following day. The retailer began piloting same-day delivery with OneRail in select markets in 2022.
“Lowe’s knows our customers want fast delivery options and convenient ways to get products they need across the home — whether it’s preparing the backyard for summer BBQs or getting building materials to the Pro’s job site on the very same day,” said Marvin Ellison, CEO and Chairman of Lowe’s in a statement. “This same-day delivery expansion delivers on our Total Home strategy to bring more omnichannel shopping capabilities to DIYers and Pros alike.”
“The ability to execute same-day delivery fulfillment, whether the customer is placing an order online or on a mobile app, is at the heart of omnichannel transformation and enabled by our OmniPoint software platform and 12-million-driver network,” said Bill Catania, CEO and Founder of OneRail in a statement.
The retailer still relies on its distribution centers as fulfillment hubs; in November 2022 Lowe’s expanded DC-based fulfillment for bulky products to an additional eight regions.
