Fabletics, the activewear brand co-founded by actress Kate Hudson, has extended its size offerings to reinforce its commitment to create and foster body positivity in women. The brand will now sell its clothing in sizes XXS through 3X.
Some apparel retailers have caused controversy by only offering clothing in limited sizes. H&M, for example, received criticism for pulling plus-sized merchandise from its NYC store, and Project Runway’s Tim Gunn shed some light on the fashion industry’s lack of inclusivity for plus-sized women. Fabletics’ decision to offer its items in a wider variety of sizes maintains the company’s core values.
“When I started Fabletics, my goal was (and still is) to empower women and design with every woman in mind, because everyone — regardless of size, shape, age or ability — deserves to look incredible, be inspired and feel their absolute best,” said Hudson in a statement. “We don’t see this as the introduction of a separate line but an extension of our brand that now allows us to embrace all the amazing women who are, or want to become, part of our community. Our mission is to support all women on their journey to live a healthy, active lifestyle.”

Fabletics isn’t the only activewear brand embracing women of all shapes and sizes. Nike recently unveiled its own plus-size line, which ranges from 1X to 3X and features items designed to flatter curvier body types.
