Other benefits of Instacart+ membership for business owners include:
- Shareable shopping lists so multiple team members can contribute;
- Easy re-ordering and auto-ordering capabilities;
- Same-day delivery as fast as one hour, discounted no-rush delivery and long-distance delivery options; and
- Coming soon, Instacart+ will have the capability for eligible organizations like nonprofits to take advantage of savings on tax-exempt items, as well as allowing for “multi-seat” accounts where multiple purchasers can place orders and managers can set policies and optimize overall spend.
“We know the demands on small businesses — especially offices and restaurants — have never been more acute as they navigate a new world of hybrid office schedules, persistent supply chain issues, labor shortages and much more,” said Andrew Nodes, VP of Business and Supply Chain at Instacart in a statement. “To help ease that burden, we introduced Instacart Business earlier this year to help small businesses get the items they need while avoiding disruptive last-minute runs to the store. We’re now taking it a step further by offering free Instacart+ to small businesses in the U.S. and Canada — creating more ways for businesses to save time and money so they can focus on serving their customers.”

Instacart isn’t the only company turning its attention to small business customers: Walmart continues to build out its suite of offerings aimed specifically at SMBs, most recently with a new dedicated app and partnership with Angi. Additionally, Amazon made small businesses a core focus of the recent Prime Day sale and regularly features educational content and promotions for the small businesses that both sell and buy on its platform.
