Pinterest has teamed up with Walmart to pilot a new shoppable recipe experience in the U.S.
Every week, millions of people use Pinterest to discover recipes and find meal inspiration. Now, users can add ingredients from eligible recipe Pins straight to their online cart on Walmart’s website or app, simply by tapping the new “Shop Ingredients” button. Shoppers also can swap products for alternatives, see real-time pricing and select their preferred Walmart store for pickup or delivery.
“Our collaboration with Walmart makes it even easier for people to turn a spark of inspiration, like a holiday recipe, into real-life moments,” said Julie Towns, VP of Product Marketing at Pinterest in a blog post. “Through this new experience, we’re bringing our vision to make every Pin shoppable closer to reality.”
Walmart Recipe Partnership Only Latest in Pinterest’s Shopping Efforts

The new experience with Walmart is another step toward Pinterest’s goal of turning the inspiration that happens on its platform into concrete sales. The platform now boasts an all‑time high of 600 million monthly active users globally, and shopping is one of the fastest‑growing parts of its ads business, outpacing overall revenue, according to a Pinterest spokesperson.
The Walmart partnership is far from Pinterest’s first foray into shoppable experiences:
- Last holiday season, Pinterest unveiled more than 1,000 shoppable gift guides alongside a slate of new shopping tools;
- In June 2025, the platform teamed up with E.l.f. Cosmetics to launch a shoppable beauty analysis tool; and
- In September, Pinterest debuted “where-to-buy” ads that allow CPG advertisers to showcase multiple retailers where their products are in stock.
