Lamps Plus has rolled out free online lighting design services to provide shoppers with advice without their having to leave home. The tool lets customers schedule an appointment with a custom lighting expert, through either a phone call or text, to receive personal design advice.
Customers near a Lamps Plus location are automatically routed to a local employee, while other requests are being handled by the San Francisco/Bay Area store team. The service’s capabilities include:
- Sending photos via text to enhance communication between the shopper and expert;
- Using web site features such as placing products within a photo to generate ideas; and
- Same-day delivery for orders placed before 2 p.m. PST.
“Direct custom expert lighting design advice can really make customers’ homes more comfortable,” said Dennis Swanson, Founder and CEO of Lamps Plus. “With our stores temporarily closed, we are able to still use our store employees to assist customers. In the past few weeks, we’ve seen great results from this service and we expect it to continue to grow.”
