Delivering Good, a nonprofit that collects new product donations from companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries, has named four industry leaders with a diverse range of expertise to its Board of Directors. Joining the 32 other board members will be:
• Vince Adams, CFO, Banana Republic, who will provide insights into retail chains and strategic planning;
• Stacy Berns, Founder and President, Berns Communications Group, who will share her communications expertise to spread the charity’s story to an even wider audience;
• Todd Everett, who brings more than 20 years of C-level and executive experience in supply chain, transportation and logistics at companies including Intel, Newgistics and Pitney Bowes; and
• Hebe Schecter, CEO, Kaltex North America and President, Kaltex America, who will offer advice regarding the manufacturing of apparel and home products.
“Contributing to the social good has become more important than ever within the retail industry and these new board members will bring specific, useful experience to our leadership,” said Andrea Weiss, Chair of Delivering Good in a statement. “These executives will add to our deep bench of industry expertise in the key areas of retail apparel, marketing and communications, apparel and home manufacturing, and distribution and operations, as well as adding geographic diversity to our board.”
2020 marks Delivering Good’s 35th anniversary. The nonprofit started as Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) before merging with Fashion Delivers in 2014. The combined nonprofits adopted the name Delivering Good in 2017. Since its founding, more than $2 billion in donated product has been distributed through a network of community partners across the country.
