Under Armour Names Marriott Exec as Chief Customer Officer

Under Armour has named long-time Marriott executive Jim Dausch as its new Chief Customer Officer (CCO), effective July 24, 2023. The retailer also has promoted Danny Miles to EVP, Chief Technology Officer and announced the departure of current COO Colin Browne and Chief Product Officer (CPO) Lisa Collier.

As CCO, Dausch will lead global brand, marketing, digital engagement and customer experience across all of Under Armour’s commerce channels, reporting directly to CEO Stephanie Linnartz, who herself came to Under Armour from Marriott in December 2022. Dausch has been with Marriott International for more than 20 years, most recently as Global Chief Product and Digital Officer, leading the company’s direct digital channels and helming a multi-year program to modernize Marriott’s technology ecosystem.

Miles, who also will report directly to Linnartz, joined Under Armour in 2021. He leads the company’s global IT teams, information security, enterprise data management and analytics, enterprise applications and digital storefront functions.

Browne, who began at Under Armour in 2016, will step down from the COO role this autumn to pursue other opportunities. In addition to modernizing the brand’s digital go-to-market strategy and DTC model and transforming its supply chain organization, Browne served as interim CEO from June 2022 to February 2023. Instead of a COO replacement, the company has initiated a search for a Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Collier, who has been CPO since 2020, will be replaced on an interim basis by Dan Leraris, currently SVP and Head of Global Apparel, while Under Armour initiates a search for a permanent replacement.
