Stitch Fix Executive Leaving To Head Up Mizzen+Main

Stitch Fix General Manager of Men’s Clothing Chris Phillips is leaving the subscription retailer to become CEO of Mizzen+Main, according to CNBC. Kevin Lavelle, current CEO of Mizzen+Main, will join The Seminar Network and continue as chairman of Mizzen+Main’s board.

Phillips has more than two decades of retail experience, including as VP of Merchandising for Men’s and Kids at Old Navy and VP and General Manager of Banana Republic Online – Global. He also helped launch the men’s division at Stitch Fix.

Mizzen+Main, which launched in 2012 as an e-Commerce site, has since opened two brick-and-mortar locations in Texas and has a presence at more than 800 retail stores, including all Nordstrom locations. The retailer plans to open “quite a few new stores over the next 18 months,” a person familiar with the matter told CNBC.

Stitch Fix also is performing well, with its number of active clients up 18% year-over-year to 3 million and net revenue up 25% year-over-year to $370.3 million during the Q2 2019, which ended Jan. 26. The apparel retailer is currently searching for a replacement CEO.
