Williams-Sonoma has opened a new showroom and dedicated design center at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, Ga. This is the retailer’s eighth location to roll out a home showroom.
The design center offers complimentary design services, allowing customers to sift through a selection of custom fabrics, wood finish swatches and rug samples. Every Saturday, guests can attend free technique classes at a 12-seat cooking island in the center of the store. Jon Lagardere, a Williams-Sonoma culinary specialist, hosts each class.
To create an environment that encourages shopping and dining, the Williams-Sonoma store features an entrance to a neighboring restaurant owned by Chef Jonathan Waxman. A glass wall separates the showroom and restaurant, so customers have an exclusive view into the dining room as they shop. This is the first time Williams-Sonoma has implemented a store design concept of this caliber.
“This location represents a shared vision for a completely new retail experience that brings together the community to shop, cook, dine and be entertained,” said Janet Hayes, President of Williams-Sonoma. “We’re thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with Chef Jonathan Waxman as well on his restaurant and for the excitement he will bring to our culinary program here.”
Williams-Sonoma has partnered with more than 50 artisanal, small-batch food producers throughout the country as part of the company’s commitment to community at the new Ponce City Market location. As part of this initiative, the retailer will feature an assortment of artisans from Atlanta and from around the South.
