VeriFone Agreement With Isis Paves The Way For Broader Mobile Payment Acceptance

VeriFone announced its agreement with Isis — the joint venture between AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless — to integrate the Isis Mobile Commerce Application with VeriFone’s current and future NFC-enabled products. VeriFone will layer Isis interfaces and user experience onto its pre-existing integrations, alongside traditional payment forms, at hundreds of thousands of U.S. retail locations. Merchants will be equipped with a combination of new payment systems and NFC add-on devices, as well as remote software upgrades of certain devices already in the field. “VeriFone retail customers will be able to leverage the integration of the mobile experience to engage consumers with new payment options, couponing and loyalty services,” said Jennifer Miles, EVP for VeriFone North America. VeriFone currently manages payment solution systems for 70% of the top 200 retail companies in the U.S. and operates more than one million NFC-capable systems in the U.S.
