Running a marathon, no matter when you finish, is an athletic feat to be admired. But what about those standing by to cheer on the runners? Don’t they deserve some support?
The folks at Allbirds and Zappos thought so, and so was born a Comfort Zone activation during the recent New York City Marathon, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn between miles seven and eight of the course.
To mark Allbirds’ debut on Zappos.com, visitors could swap their current shoes for a pair of Allbirds Wool Runner Gos, stressing the brands’ commitment to comfort. In less than five hours on Nov. 3, the activation gave away 500 shoes. Shoes that were left by the recipients were donated to Soles4Souls, a partner organization to both Allbirds and Zappos.
