Simon has purchased a site in the metro Nashville area that it plans to develop into a 325,000-square-foot mixed-use center that will include approximately 75 retailers, restaurants and a hotel, with the potential to add residential options, big box retailers and more. The mall operator and real estate investment trust expects construction to begin on the Nashville Premium Outlets project in 2026 at the site in Thompson’s Station, Tenn.
Nashville Premium Outlets will complement other Simon properties in the area, including Opry Mills and The Mall at Green Hills, which Simon owns through a joint venture with Taubman Realty Group.
“We are excited to bring another premier shopping and lifestyle destination to Nashville, one of our country’s most dynamic and fastest-growing markets,” said Gary Duncan, President of Premium Outlets and The Mills at Simon in a statement. “We look forward to bringing our distinctive luxury outlet shopping experience to metro Nashville, an area we know well and have long served.”
‘Scouting for Stars’ at 20 Simon Locations
Simon properties across the country also will be hosting a series of immersive experiences designed to find aspiring musical talent. Scouting for Stars @themall will visit 20 Simon properties from February to August 2025, featuring a revolving lineup of 150+ handpicked rising artists.

The tour is designed to let attendees connect with musicians, gain new songwriting skills and insight and learn from music industry players about what it takes to make it in the business.
Each two-day stop also will include a talent search with auditions on the first day and one person selected to perform as the opening act on Day Two.
The talent show/competition continues Simon’s ongoing @themall campaign, which is aimed at capturing Gen Z’s enthusiasm for in-person shopping and all things retro.
“The mall is where generations come together to have fun and make memories,” said Lee Sterling, Chief Marketing Officer at Simon in a statement. “We know Gen Z loves the mall and connecting in person, just like their parents did. Since music is also about connecting, this tour is a natural fit. Who knows? The next superstar might get their start at one of our properties thanks to the Scouting for Stars @themall tour!”
For the Scouting for Stars tour, Simon has partnered with Greater Than Distribution, which is led by Co-CEOs Randy Jackson and A&R (artist and repertoire) expert Paula Moore.
