Petco has acquired PupBox, a puppy-focused subscription service company. Co-founded in 2014 by Ben and Ariel Zvaifler, PupBox delivers products and training information to new dog owners. As part of the acquisition, the Zvaiflers and the entire PupBox team will join Petco.
Products delivered via the subscription boxes vary based on the pet’s current stage of development and physical characteristics, and can include:
- Toys;
- Treats;
- Grooming tools;
- Accessories;
- Seasonal items; and
- Pet training guides.
“Navigating through everything new puppies and dogs need, and how to keep them healthy and happy as they grow, can be challenging.” said Petco CEO Brad Weston in a statement. “Combining Petco’s breadth of product and services offerings with PupBox’s highly customized monthly subscription service takes the guesswork away from pet parents and provides everything they need to raise a healthy, happy pup at every stage of life.”
