Macy’s is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the I.N.C. women’s ready-to-wear private label brand by recruiting noted designer Christian Siriano as Creative Director and Curator of its fall collection.

“For 40 years, I.N.C. has been a cornerstone of Macy’s private brand portfolio, delivering the latest fashion designed to inspire and empower women,” said Emily Erushi-Hilleque, SVP of Private Brand, Design and Trend at Macy’s in a statement. “To celebrate this milestone, we partnered with Christian, a true visionary whose designs celebrate individuality, inclusivity and bold expression.”

Siriano has designed exclusive original artwork to be featured on limited-edition T-shirts, available online and at select stores. He also took 40 signature black blazers from the new collection, transforming each with a distinctive touch to create one-of-a-kind pieces, and designed a couture dress that will be unveiled during New York Fashion Week, Sept. 11-16. The blazers and dress will be auctioned later this month, with proceeds going to charity.

“I.N.C. has played an iconic role in shaping fashion, and this collection is meant to honor that incredible legacy while also reimagining what modern, confident style can look like today,” said Siriano in a statement. “For me, it’s about curating pieces that empower individuality and bring joy to getting dressed.”

Macy’s also does its part to feed the pipeline of future fashion designers: the retailer’s Future of Style Fund and Mission Every One help up-and-coming designers get into the industry and make contacts.
