LightFish, a new social shopping web site, offers shopping enthusiasts a new way to connect with like-minded peers while also saving money.
The LightFish web site allows users to browse products from a list of popular retailers and online search results, then “hook” desired products to their pages. “LightFish will let you know right when the product goes on sale, through a notification to your page and email,” according to a company press release. Users can share their collections and leave comments about other users’ items.
“I wanted to create a social networking site that gave people more than just a forum for communication, but also enhanced their shopping experience,” said Alistair Black, President and Founder of Lightfish. “Saving money is essential to everyone, so I thought it would be the perfect premise for a new social networking site.”
