Ghanaian accessory and jewelry brand Kua Designs will visit the U.S. this summer via a five-city pop-up tour that will include Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, New York City and Washington, D.C.
The following dates have been set:
- June 25, 2 to 5 p.m. at Atlanta’s The Bakery CoWork;
- July 9, 2 to 5 p.m. at Los Angeles’ The Dollhouse Boutique; and
- July 23, 1 to 4 p.m. at Washington, D.C.’s Ipade.
Dates and locations for New York and Miami are still to be announced.
The shops will offer a limited collection of goods such as beaded jewelry, clothing and handbags — including the clutch styles in African print fabrics for which the brand is known. Kua Designs Founder Ruby Buah creates the clutches from fabrics traditionally used by Ghanaian mothers and grandmothers. The Accra, Ghana-based designer will also showcase jewelry that supports the brand’s philanthropic division, Kua Cares, which supports visually impaired women through training and employment in jewelry making.
