Kohl’s Picks Instacart as Exclusive Same-Day Delivery Partner

Kohl’s has become the latest retailer to enable same-day delivery via Instacart, allowing customers to have accessories, home goods, skincare and beauty items delivered in as fast as one hour from all 1,172 Kohl’s stores. Shoppers using the Kohl’s Instacart storefront can earn Kohl’s Rewards on these orders, which are priced the same for delivery and in-store purchase.

“With Kohl’s as one of the first department stores on our platform, we’re proud to continue expanding our selection beyond grocery, making everyday shopping for our customers easier for their busy lives,” said Blake Wallace, Senior Director, Retail Partnerships at Instacart in a statement. “We’re committed to offering customers a broad selection of items and ways to get exactly what they need from the retailers they know and love.”

Kohl’s has been expanding its assortment in recent months, both through its own merchandising and via its shop-in-shop relationships with other retailers. In March 2024 Kohl’s increased its home décor assortment by 40% and began positioning itself as a seasonal décor destination. Kohl’s hosted Sephora shop-in-shops in more than 900 stores at the end of 2023 and plans to have them in all 1,170 stores by 2025. Additionally, Babies ‘R’ Us shop-in-shops will be launched in 200 Kohl’s stores in 2024.

Instacart also has been enlarging its offerings beyond food delivery: in May 2023 PetSmart expanded Instacart same-day delivery service to its U.S. stores, and in November 2023 Camping World partnered with the platform for same-day delivery of nearly 1,800 products.
