Cancer treatments can change one’s looks, sometimes radically, and it’s often just one more aspect of the loss of control many cancer patients feel. JCPenney and Look Good Feel Better are addressing both these challenges with Look Good Feel Better workshops, free to those undergoing cancer treatment, that will begin rolling out later this year in select stores across 10 U.S. markets.
The in-store workshops will be led by JCPenney Salon Professionals who have been trained and certified by the organization to help address cancer’s appearance-related side effects, providing lessons on skin care during treatment, makeup application, nail care, wig selection and care, scarf tying and personal styling.
“The simple things that we often take for granted, such as brushing our hair or applying mascara to our lashes, can change completely for people undergoing cancer treatment,” said Jo Osborne, SVP, GMM of Beauty, Center Core and Footwear for JCPenney in a statement. “I have seen firsthand how Look Good Feel Better workshops create connection, offer a space to learn and share, and deliver a dose of magic to help people in cancer treatment feel just a little bit more like themselves and understand that they are not alone.”
The workshops at select JCPenney stores and salons will begin rolling out later in 2026 in
New York; Seattle-Tacoma, Wash.; St. Louis; Baltimore; Rochester, Minn.; Nashville, Tenn.; Houston; Dallas; Denver; and Dayton, Ohio.
Look Good Feel Better has helped people in cancer treatment for more than 35 years, serving more than 1 million people in the U.S. and more than 2 million globally. Workshop participants receive a free cosmetic kit, including products donated by leading brands, and the sessions are offered in both Spanish and English.
