Harrods Enhances Global Ecommerce with Localized Experiences

Iconic British department store Harrods has partnered with the Global-e international ecommerce platform to improve its online operations in more than 200 markets worldwide and offer customers elevated, localized shopping experiences.

Key features of the Global-e platform that Harrods will be taking advantage of include:

  • Browsing and payment in local currencies;
  • A wide range of local and alternative payment methods;
  • Attractive shipping offerings;
  • Advanced duty and tax calculations and prepayment for a guaranteed final cost of purchase; and
  • Easy returns processes.

“At Harrods we are continuously expanding our ecommerce presence to deliver memorable experiences to our customers around the world, making it crucial to partner with those who can support our ambitious goals,” said Caitlin Innes, Chief Digital and Customer Officer at Harrods in a statement. “We have partnered with Global-e to provide a seamless customer experience for both our UK and international visitors.”

In addition to its customer-facing functionalities, the Global-e platform will help Harrods navigate the complexities of international ecommerce via localization capabilities, trade compliance, big data best practice business intelligence models and local market expertise.
