Dunkin’ Donuts Celebrates “Appiversary” With Twitter Sweepstakes

recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of its mobile application with the “DD Mobile Appiversary Twitter Sweepstakes,” giving fans the chance to win $10 Dunkin’ Donuts “mGift” cards. The sweepstakes took place Aug. 16-18, 2013.

Followers of the @DunkinDonuts Twitter account could participate in the contest by using the Dunkin’ App “Store Locator” function to locate their favorite restaurant. Fans who tweeted a screenshot of their mobile screen or a picture of their favorite location along with the #DunkinApp hash tag became eligible to win. A total of 365 participants will be selected to win the mobile gift card. According to the @DunkinDonuts Twitter account, winners will be notified this week via a direct message.

“Our guests rely on their mobile devices more than ever, and in just one year our Dunkin’ App has helped millions of busy, on-the-go people run on Dunkin’ faster and more conveniently,” said John Costello, President of Global Marketing and Innovation at Dunkin’ Brands. Since the launch of the Dunkin’ App one year ago, it has been downloaded more than 3.5 million times.

With the app, consumers can store their Dunkin’ Donuts Cards in their mobile devices to pay for food, beverages and merchandise in stores or at the drive-thru. The Dunkin’ App is available for free from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
