Salesforce is predicting a record-breaking Cyber Week, with sales projected to reach $334 billion worldwide, up 6% year over year, and $78 billion in the U.S., a 3% YoY increase. But the big news is the astonishingly rapid growth of AI agents, which will influence more than one in five (22%) of global sales, accounting for $73 billion.
Mobile commerce’s dominance goes hand in hand with the AI wave. The Salesforce Shopping Index, which uses aggregate data from multiple sources to analyze the activity of more than 1,.5 billion global shoppers across 1.5 trillion page views, predicts that mobile orders will account for 70% of Cyber Week sales and 80% of traffic. One-quarter of all purchases made over Cyber Week will be completed via a mobile wallet.
“Digital traffic has skyrocketed, indicating shoppers are engaging early to see what’s new and build out their wish lists,” ,” said Caila Schwartz, Director of Consumer Insights and Strategy for Salesforce in a statement. “This year, more shoppers are leaning on AI and agents to research products, help them budget, and prepare for the holiday season. Combined with Cyber Week sales projections, we expect highly motivated shoppers who are ready to spend, despite rising prices.”
Deep Discounts will Fuel Cyber Week Sales
Brick-and-mortar shopping will still make up the majority of sales, accounting for 65% of the total during Cyber Week in the U.S. Both online and in-store, shoppers will find significant discounts during this period, with Salesforce forecasting the highest discounted categories in the U.S. to be:
- General apparel (37%);
- Health and beauty (35%)
- Home (furniture, dining décor, appliances) (23%)
Black Friday, once known for amazing in-store sales, is now the biggest day of the year for online shopping. Salesforce forecasts that Black Friday sales will drive $78 billion in online global sales, and $18 billion in the U.S. — approximately 5X the sales volume of an average day outside the holiday season that runs Nov. 1 to Dec. 31.
In July 2025 Salesforce predicted that AI would have significant impacts on both in-store and online shopping this holiday season, driving $260 billion in online sales and $1.6 trillion in in-store sales.
