Macy’s Herald Square flagship began hosting a new retail concept from Clinique, on July 21, 2022. The Clinique Lab emphasizes the science behind the heritage beauty brand’s ingredients.
Designed to align with Clinique branding elements such as language and color palette, The Lab promotes the brand’s commitment to leading skin diagnosis and appropriate solutions. Within The Lab, clients receive a personalized experience that blends technology and skincare through:
- The Clinique Clinical Reality proprietary diagnostics tool that analyzes skin through facial scanning software and recommends custom skincare and beauty solutions;
- A Discovery Table, which is central to The Lab’s product exploration, showcasing new launches and bestsellers;
- Trials of new products and opportunities to create a custom-fit skincare regimen; and
- Community Bar, a high-touch communal area that affords consultant-led services to yield an elevated, bespoke experience.
The introduction of Clinique’s science-focused skincare retail concept at Macy’s was made during a time when the department store retailer is exploring new approaches to its store design through partnerships with other brands. Macy’s recently shared plans for a Toys ‘R’ Us holiday 2022 partnership that will build the toy seller’s presence within the department store via a store-in-store experience.
