Nordstrom Holiday Plans: 1,000-Item Gift Shops, Plus Visits from Santa, in All Stores

Nordstrom is making its bid to be a major holiday destination with gift shops in every store that will feature more than 1,000 items, 90% of which will be priced under $100 and 60% under $50. In-store events will include special appearances by Santa at each store, with Nordstrom cardholders qualifying for free photos with the jolly one.

The department store will promote its entire suite of holiday offerings with an “Oh, What Fun!” integrated streaming and social media campaign featuring actor Kyle MacLachlan as “The Gift Expert,” developed in collaboration with brand transformation consultancy Invisible Dynamics.

Each in-store gift shop will feature gifting categories such as beauty sets, accessories, kids’ apparel and toys for all ages and cozy favorites like robes, slippers and pajamas, along with home essentials. The shops will be staffed with dedicated Gift Experts to provide personalized assistance.

At the retailer’s NYC flagship, customers can explore The Gift Shop at store’s rotating pop-up space The Corner, which will feature a two-story, design-forward gifting concept. Throughout the season, this shop will host elevated services such as The Gift Box Bar, where customers can create custom gift boxes featuring their choice of ribbon and a curated selection of charms, along with a personalization station and a photo booth.

Chainwide, Nordstrom will host more than 1,500 festive events throughout the season, including Holiday Breakfasts for the whole family and beauty Glam Up Days. Nordy Club loyalty program members can go to exclusive shopping parties and will have access to a special lounge in select stores. For Icon-level members, Nordstrom is inviting them to select a premium gift or charitable donation of their choice as an appreciation for their loyalty.
