Nordstrom Gives App, NYC Flagship Holiday Glow-Ups

Nordstrom is all geared up for the holidays, with a refreshed app and new in-store services and experiences designed to make shopping this season easy and fun whether in stores or online.

Nordstrom’s Revamped App Aims for Inspiration

Nordstrom’s refreshed mobile app features a completely new look and feel on the homepage alongside a range of new features, including:

  • Interactive editorial content like trend reports, which blend the expertise of Nordstrom’s stylists with the power of generative AI to create relevant, inspiring content;
  • A “Style Swipes” feature, which makes product recommendations based on app users’ habits and preferences. Just like working with their favorite stylist in-store, the more customers interact with the Nordstrom app, the better the app will get to know them, making for better and more personalized recommendations;
  • Fun and approachable styling videos for further inspiration;
  • Natural language search to make it easier for customers to find exactly what they have in mind; and
  • Easy access to Nordy Club loyalty status and benefits, which can now be seen at the top of the Home tab and are tracked in real time as customers shop.

Plus, as of Nov. 18, a “Rush the Rack” app feature is now available exclusively to Nordy Club members, giving them the first info about new in-store arrivals from the brands they love so they can shop early.

Delivery and Styling Services on Overdrive

Even the best planners sometimes end up in a time crunch, and Nordstrom is prepared. Throughout the holiday season, customers can filter results on Nordstrom.com to see products available for same-day and next-day order pickup. Additionally, free two-day shipping is available on thousands of items in over 25 major markets. To further beef up the offering, Nordstrom Rack also is introducing buy online, pickup in-store for the first time at more than 100 locations.

And Nordstrom’s thousands of personal stylists are ready and willing to help gift-givers this season, free of charge. Shoppers can request a look from a stylist on the Nordstrom app or schedule an appointment to visit one in-store.

A Holiday Flagship Transformation + Beauty Events Across the U.S.

And that’s not all folks! The retailer also will host beauty events across the country this season, offering complimentary tutorials and services, free samples from top brands and more. Nordstrom also will hold virtual events with fashion experts and a range of other in-store experiences throughout the season, including letters to Santa and the one-day-only Beauty Bash. To capture it all, Nordstrom is partnering with Shutterfly to help customers commemorate the joy of the holidays with free personalized ornaments, family photos with Santa and a Shutterfly discount.

Then, on Nov. 27 Nordstrom NYC will unveil the immersive installationThe Blizz on 57th Street, which willtransform the flagship into “a visual spectacle.” In addition to daily Santa Snow Shows and a holiday weekend brunch series, the store will be transformed inside and out with a cast of inflatable characters inspired by iconic fictional New York City staples.

To help out-of-towners take part in the holiday fun, Nordstrom also has developed two NYC experience packages available for purchase. The first package includes a four-night stay at the JW Marriott Essex House, tickets to either the Radio City Christmas Spectacular or The Nutcracker, a dining experience at the Plaza Hotel or in Central Park at the Boathouse or Tavern on the Green, and a shopping spree with a stylist at Nordstrom’s NYC flagship. The second package features tickets to Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time Concert, a dining experience at Nordstrom’s NYC Icon Lounge, appointments to get glammed up for the occasion and more.
