Bloomingdale’s has transformed the rotating retail space at its New York City flagship in New York City into a pop-up market with its latest partner, Flamingo Estate.

Flamingo Estate is a home and garden-focused brand powered by a collection of more than 120 farmers and growers that use regenerative practices to make products ranging from candles to soaps and pantry items.

The latest installation at Bloomingdale’s Carousel space opened Jan. 23, 2025 and will run through mid-March. The pop-up features a curated collection of Flamingo Estate’s most popular products, merchandised in a lush space designed to look like a garden market. The design draws from Flamingo Estate’s brand aesthetic, charm and philosophy, even using the same fragrant plants founder Richard Christiansen uses in his home.

“Collaborating with the iconic Flamingo Estate provides the unique opportunity to bring a piece of the garden to Bloomingdale’s and a part of the West Coast to 59th Street,” said Frank Berman, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer for Bloomingdale’s in a statement. “Richard has created such a unique and incredible brand with sought-after and elevated products we know our customers have an appetite to experience.”

Exclusive Flamingo Estate Activations and Experiential Moments

During the pop-up’s run, Flamingo Estate will host a series of exclusive in-store activations and events, including:

  • A meet-and-greet with Christiansen, who will sign copies of his book, The Guide to Becoming Alive, on Feb. 8;
  • Custom calligraphy services, which customers can enjoy when they purchase olive oil or candles on Feb. 1, Feb. 22 and March 8; and
  • Exclusive product sampling events, where customers can taste-test products from the pantry in branded charcuterie cups before purchasing, which will take place on Feb. 1, Feb. 15 and March 8.

“Flamingo Estate is my home, and a celebration of everything we grow in California,” Christiansen shared in a statement. “But before Flamingo Estate was born, I spent almost 20 years here in Manhattan dreaming of a garden and orchard and all the things I could make there. So, in many ways, this is a homecoming for me. I always wanted to create a wonderful expression of my LA home and garden here in New York.”
