De Beers Adopts Mobile POS Technology To Personalize In-Store Experiences

De Beers Jewellers, the luxury retailer best known for selling diamonds, is implementing Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service and Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service solutions across its 33 stores in 15 countries.

With the mobile customer service and checkout capabilities of the Xstore Point of Service solution, the retailer seeks to help its store associates engage in more personalized interactions with shoppers. This is vital for the De Beers store experience, which already is equipped with proprietary De Beers Iris technology designed to allow customers to see the unique characteristics of their diamond with expert guidance.

“Diamonds are works of art in their own rights with incredible colors, tints and nuances,” said Francois Delage, CEO of De Beers Jewellers in a statement. “The more you know, the more you can discover. Our brand ambassadors guide customers to find the perfect jewelry for their unique tastes. Selecting Oracle’s mobile technology will enable our brand ambassadors to ensure a seamless in-store experience from the discovery phase to purchase, in the optimal setting.”

Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service is designed to centralize all back-office elements of store operations, reducing the need for additional data center investment. With the cloud service rollout, De Beers seeks to enable faster implementation timelines and create a more responsive business model attuned to shifts in consumer preferences.
