Salute to SMBs
For the second year, NRF also is giving special attention to small- to medium-sized businesses at its Second Annual Independents’ Day on Tuesday, January 11. Session topics during Independents’ Day include Real World Action to Increase Sales and Why Be Open Seven Days When Only Four are Profitable?

The keynote session during Independents’ Day will be presented by Dave Ratner, President of Dave’s Soda & Pet city, who will hold an interactive session on the topic: Ten Things You Can Do When You Go Back to the Store. Ratner has reportedly taken a very aggressive, customer-centric approach to competing with larger retailers and will share take-home ideas with attendees.
Getting Serious About Sustainability
For the first time, NRF is dedicating a full day of sessions to the topic of Sustainability. Produced by the NRF’s Sustainable Retailing Consortium, the first International Sustainable Retailing Symposium will feature 10 sessions covering a variety of global sustainability topics.
The keynote session, titled The Many Shades of Green, will be presented by Paco Underhill, author and CEO of Envirosell.

More than 500 vendors and service providers will present their wares within the 150,000 sq. ft. Expo Hall during Monday, January 10 and Tuesday, January 11.
