The Power Of A Brand Name: Nike Leads Search Queries During Holiday 2018

Analysis of 61 million searches from top fashion sites during 2018 revealed that the biggest brand names are still the starting point for many online shoppers. During holiday 2018, the top search query was Nike, and the company also led as the favorite sneaker brand. Levi’s was the top brand name for jeans, while Calvin Klein was the underwear leader and Jansport topped searches for backpacks.

Search data results also indicated that sportswear has become everyday wear, with the majority of apparel searches focusing on activewear brands. These brands, including Nike and Adidas, maintained relatively constant demand levels throughout the year, compared to more seasonal brands such as North Face.
