Qurate Hires Former Pandora Exec to Lead Human Resources

David Gerbitz Qurate Retail Group

Qurate Retail Group — parent company of HSN, QVC and Zulily — has appointed David Gerbitz as Chief People Officer to oversee talent acquisition, learning and development, organizational effectiveness, team member experience, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Gerbitz joins Qurate after leading a private executive coaching consultancy serving executive-level leaders largely in technology, ecommerce and media. He began his career in human resources with companies such as Microsoft and Amazon, and later transitioned into commercial and operations roles with Microsoft, Yahoo and Pandora Media. At Pandora he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, helping to scale the company’s advertising business and played a significant role in the acquisition and integration of Pandora into Sirius XM.

Gerbitz will assume his new role on April 8, 2020, reporting to President and CEO Mike George.

“David brings a unique background, blending human resources, commercial and general management experiences across the technology and media fields,” said George in a statement. “David’s unique background has given him a deep understanding of the streaming and overall media and technology landscape and the People team’s role as a strategic business function and partner in supporting growth.”
