The Melt, a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in grilled cheese sandwiches, has adopted the Perka platform to create a mobile loyalty program called “The Melt Perks.”
Using the Perka app as a mobilized punchcard, consumers can earn a free melt for every nine they purchase via mobile or the company web site. Loyal customers also are able to earn the “Perks+” status when they buy at least one melt in five separate orders within 30 consecutive days.

The new loyalty program allows consumers to complete and pick up orders seamlessly. Using the app, shoppers can prepay orders on the Melt web site and pick up their meal by scanning a code at any of the 15 locations throughout California, or at a “mobile bus location,” according to a company press release.
As a benefit for restaurants and retailers, the Perka app can help identify loyal customers by delivering detailed shopper data. In addition, organizations can use the Perka open developer API, which is designed to integrate into POS and ordering systems, helping retailers create a clearer connection between transactions and individual customer profiles.
